Metal picket fencing is a new type of material used for landscaping. It has become a highly practical alternative to wooden fences and fences made of corrugated sheets, providing high strength and quality indicators. Most often, such structures are used to fence a site. Vertical picket fencing is made of metal profile planks, the width and thickness of which are 8-12 cm and 0.3-0.5 mm, respectively. Their surface is treated with a polymer coating to protect against ultraviolet radiation and corrosion.

Installing a fence made of metal pickets is practically no different from installation work associated with wooden pickets. At the preparatory stage, it is necessary to calculate the material used. To do this, you can use the universal formula N = L / (W + S) × 1000 with the following designations:
To indicate the number of posts, the total length of the fence is divided by the size of the gap between the supports. According to the standard, the distance is within 2-3 meters.
In addition, you also need to purchase fasteners. Usually, aluminum rivets, self-tapping screws or roofing bolts equipped with rubber or polymer washers are used in the work.
The first stage of installation work is marking the territory. You will need pegs that are installed at the corners of the site. A rope is stretched between them. It is also important to mark with pegs the places where you plan to install the wicket and install the gate. For accurate measurement of geometry, it is advisable to use a level. Installing the frame
It is formed from pillars that form the basis of the structure. Experts recommend options with a square or rectangular cross-section. The pillars are installed by concreting, driving into the ground or screwing in screw piles. For concreting, you need to dig holes with a depth of about 90 cm. Before installing the post in the hole, it is necessary to treat them with an anti-corrosion agent, matching it to the color of the picket fence. The recesses are filled with cement mortar.
Installing a metal fence
The picket fence is attached to the frame on the side of the planks. The arrangement of the elements can be single-row or staggered. In the second case, the first row is fixed first, then the second. Before this stage, it is important to mark the placement of the planks in the span to maintain the step distance. The standard distance for a sectional fence is within 20-60 mm.
Final stage
At this stage, the gate and wicket are installed. Such elements are made mainly of the same material as the main metal fence. It is also permissible to use other formats of materials. Most often, the same ones are used as on corrugated fences. The type of gate can be different, but in terms of overall style, sliding gates look best.
Maintaining a fence made of metal picket fence does not require much effort. You only need to periodically check the strength of the fasteners, clean the surface from dirt and from time to time treat the surface with anti-corrosion materials.
