Rubble is a decorative stone, widely used in construction and for finishing works. Its advantages are a successful combination of external presentability and durability. In terms of composition, this material is not a homogeneous mass. It includes all kinds of minerals - limestone, dolomite, sandstone, etc. A fence made of rubble stone, if installation rules are followed and the material is chosen correctly, will serve for more than 50 years.

First, you need to designate the length and height of the future fence of the site. Regardless of the parameters, to build a fence from rubble blocks, you should initially arrange a strip foundation. Its recommended dimensions are 80 cm in depth and 60 cm in width. To strengthen the structure, you need to use metal reinforcement, thick wire, rods. Also, for the foundation, you can use defective stones that are not suitable for decorative masonry.
In addition, you need to make formwork - old boards or pieces of sheet metal are used for this purpose. Just like with brickwork, you should start building a stone fence only on dry formwork that has hardened for several days. The rubble for the fence is selected clean, without traces of dirt and dust, necessarily in different sizes. The final stage is the installation of a fence parapet to protect against precipitation.
To make a rubble fence with columns, you can use the following types of stone:
It is extracted by blasting during the processing of rocks at deposits. To reduce the size, large pieces are processed in a crushing machine. Industrial quarrystone contains sandstone and limestone. The scope of application of this type of stone is quite wide.
It is mined from the bottom of reservoirs, after which it undergoes specialized processing. As a result, this rubble stone gets smoothly polished, rounded edges. Another name for this type is cobblestone, while it is often used for landscaping.
A frequently used material, characterized by a parallelepiped configuration. Due to this, the stone is an excellent substitute for brick. The thickness of each element should not exceed 7 centimeters.
Installation of a fence made of rubble is carried out in almost the same way as installation of a brick structure. It is necessary to mark out the location of the installation of the gate and wicket. A moisture protection layer is also laid, and the locations of the installation of the posts are marked. Finishing of a fence made of rubble allows a combination of the main and other materials. For example, customers often decide to install a wicket and gate made of metal, wood, with forged or carved inserts.

Working with natural stone requires following certain recommendations. They must be followed to avoid future cracks, breaks and other damage. Advice from professionals is as follows:
The main principle in the work is to lay large stones at the bottom. Openings are marked with corner stones. If there are large protrusions on the front part of the material, they are chipped off on the ground before laying or ground down in the wall after the solution has dried.

Working with the material involves several types of masonry, among which the following are most often used:
Horizontal facing with stone no more than 20 cm thick. The seam should not exceed 15 mm, the rows can have different thicknesses, but the front part must be made even. The formwork for such a process is mounted in several rows. The voids are filled with a solution with the addition of crushed stone to increase the strength of the structure. The layers are tamped by light tapping, contact of stones with each other is not allowed.
When installing a fence in this way, a construction vibrator is needed. Initially, large stones are laid in a trench or formwork with the voids filled with mortar. Then, ramming is carried out with a vibrator. Compaction is carried out until the masonry absorbs the entire mass.
