Answers to frequently asked questions

How long does it take to make a fence?

+

The production time depends on the availability of materials, order volume, and delivery distance.

What foundation to choose for a fence?

+

  • Strip foundation. A strip fence requires a thorough approach. This type of foundation is laid along the entire length of the fence and provides high stability. A strip foundation for a fence is often used in the construction of brick and concrete fences. It is convenient to reinforce, and the shape allows you to accurately fit supports and decorative elements.
  • Columnar foundation. If you plan to install a metal fence or sections of corrugated board, you are better off choosing a columnar foundation for a fence. It is more economical, since concrete is poured only in the places where the posts are installed. However, with weak soil or heavy loads, it may require reinforcement.
  • Strip-columnar foundation. The combined option - a strip-columnar foundation for a fence - combines the advantages of both types. It is suitable for medium-weight fences and provides the best price-performance ratio.

How to pour concrete under a fence?

+

How to pour concrete under a fence? Start pouring from one end, distributing the mass along the entire length. After pouring, compact the solution with a vibrator and level the surface. During the first day, cover the concrete with a film and regularly moisten it with water for 3-5 days. Pouring the foundation implies strength, stability and resistance to external loads - these are the characteristics that cement mixtures of grades from M150 to M400 provide.

  • M150 cement is suitable for lightweight structures - for example, fences made of corrugated board. Such a mixture provides sufficient bearing capacity at minimal loads and is economical in consumption;
  • M200 and M250 cement are an excellent choice for medium-weight fences: for example, with brick pillars, decorative inserts or low concrete slabs. These grades have good resistance to deformation and subsidence;
  • M300-M400 cement is optimal for massive and heavy structures: facing brick fences, monolithic concrete slabs, as well as metal fences with large pillars. It withstands significant loads, including those from heaving soil or seasonal shifts.

How much does it cost to pour a foundation for a fence?

+

The cost depends on the scope of work, type of foundation and materials. On average, the price of pouring a foundation for a fence in Kyiv is from 600 UAH per linear meter. You can calculate the cost of a foundation for a fence on the website parkan.rbk-alba or immediately contact our manager for advice.

Why do you need a foundation for a fence?

+

  • Ensuring the stability and durability of the structure. The foundation prevents the fence from sagging and warping over time;
  • Protection against warping and deformation. Especially important for heavy fences made of brick, concrete or metal;
  • Even load distribution. The foundation helps to evenly distribute the weight of the fence along its entire length;
  • Increasing aesthetic appeal. The foundation can be a decorative element, giving the fence a finished look.

Pouring the foundation under the fence, steps?

+

  • Preparation of the pit and cushion. First you need to dig a trench around the perimeter of the future fence. For the strip foundation of the fence, make a flat ditch of a given depth, and put a sand and gravel cushion 10-15 cm thick on the bottom and tamp it.
  • Installation of formwork and reinforcement. After preparing the pit, assemble the formwork for the fence foundation. Insert the reinforcement in two horizontal levels, connecting it with vertical posts. This will ensure the strength of the base.
  • Pouring concrete and caring for the foundation.

What are the mistakes when building a foundation for a fence?

+

Building a foundation for a fence is a very responsible process. Let's look at the main mistakes that builders often make:

  • Too shallow depth - leads to sagging and distortions;
  • Poor formwork for the fence - causes mortar leakage and unevenness;
  • Using the wrong brand of concrete - reduces strength;
  • Lack of waterproofing - accelerates the destruction of the structure.

What depth is needed for a fence foundation?

+

The depth of the foundation for a fence depends on the soil and the type of structure. For corrugated iron, it starts from 25-30 cm, for brick - from 40 cm, and for concrete slabs - from 50 cm. Also consider the depth of freezing in your region.
